I'm walking in my undies — and I'm asking you to stand with me.
I was officially diagnosed with endometriosis in 2020. But my story didn't start there. For over two years before that, I was crying out, advocating for myself, sitting in doctors' offices telling them my pain was out of control and that something was truly wrong with my body. I was brushed off again and again.
By the time someone finally listened, I was already at stage 3 — advanced. And one of the first things I was told was that I needed to have a child within the next two years, or I might not be able to have one at all. I've made my peace with that: if it's meant to be, it will be. But no woman should be handed news like that after years of being ignored.
"Endometriosis affects more than 1 in 10 women. This is not uncommon. This is common — and we deserve to be heard."
I'm walking for every girl and every woman who has been pushed around, dismissed, and told that her pain was just something she had to live with — or worse, something to be quiet about. Because in our community especially, this is not something we talk about. And that silence is costing us.
The truth is, I'm still fighting. I'm still searching for the right doctor. I'm still getting referrals declined. Right now, in 2026, I am still struggling to get the care I need — and if nothing changes, women will still be fighting this same fight ten and fifteen years from now.
I refuse to accept that.
