It took 25 years to receive an official diagnosis of endometriosis.
For a quarter of a century, I was trapped in a relentless cycle of seeking help, only to be left without answers or relief. Deep-rooted stigma around women’s reproductive health keeps so many of us silent. Because of that silence, I spent my formative years pushing through severe, chronic pain, navigating the complex realities of fertility, and minimizing my pain so I wouldn’t burden others.
Receiving an official diagnosis was the moment I started taking my life back. It wasn’t just a suspicion with no next steps—it was the first time a real plan of action became possible. It was a turning point toward a healthier future.
While my diagnosis has marked a new beginning for me, the battle is far from over. No one should have to wait a quarter of a century to get answers.
This is why I’m walking alongside the people who believed me and continuously supported me through some of my most painful moments. Together, we are raising $1,500 for women’s health research at Mount Sinai Hospital.
We’re walking to support better diagnostic tools, faster answers, and vital research—not only for endometriosis, but for the full spectrum of health issues that can impact women throughout their lives.
