Sign up and choose Virtual. You'll get your own fundraising page where you can share YOUR reason for walking — this is what will inspire the people around you to give. From there, the most important work begins: you raise money for women's below-the-belt health, a cause that has gone underfunded, underresearched, underdiagnosed, and under-discussed for far too long. We raise first and we walk second because the dollars are what change lives, and that has always been the point.
GET YOUR SWAG
Your registration includes a walker kit mailed right to your door. Yes, the very same one our Toronto walkers get!
RALLY YOUR PEOPLE
Nobody walks this alone, and you shouldn't either. Bring your best friend, your husband, your mother, your sister, your kids, the people you work with — anyone who has ever been dismissed by a doctor, or who loves someone who has. Choose your spot, choose your time, and turn your own street into a start line. This is how we get LOUD together.
PICK YOUR DISTANCE
Just like our Toronto walkers, choose to walk either 7km or 12km, and then hit the pavement. You can walk in your neighbourhood, on your favourite trail, around the local park, or even on the treadmill at your gym. Wherever your feet land that day, you are walking right alongside us.
HIT YOUR STRENGTH STOPS
Our Toronto walkers pause at Strength Stops along the route, and so will you. Your kit includes a Strength Stops card with simple moves to work through as you go — a few moments to catch your breath, feel strong, and remember exactly why you laced up in the first place.
DRESS THE PART
We take on the streets of Toronto in our underwear, and we'd love for you to do the same, wherever you are. Undies, a tutu, a favourite t-shirt — whatever makes you feel bold and unmissable. This is your walk so wear whatever you want, round up your people, and take the photo you'll want to look back on.
POST IT & TAG US
Show us yours! Tag @thedownthereaffair and use #nomorewhispers, so we can find you, cheer you on from Toronto, and use your steps to pull the next person off the sidelines.
FINISH OUT LOUD!
When you cross your own finish line, you are far from done. You've become part of a movement of people who all walked together on the same day, for the same reason, and refused to whisper about it any longer. So pour yourself something, turn the music up, and celebrate what we have built together because you helped build it!
